Need to get recommendations on a new pump for my 21 ft round 54” high pool. Currently has a pentair dynamo 1hp pum an sand dollar sd 40 filter. would like to get a 2 speed pump to save electricity.

I thought about replacing it, but have had so many issues with it, I would hate to invest anymore in this brand.

I have a sungrabber (2) 2x20 panels in the mail. The strap system looks like something that can be purchased at homedepot. I know that I can go under the top shingle and I wanted to be able to go under the bottom shingle. Thinking of maybe aluminum L bracket on the bottom?

Has anyone made their own attachments or braces for the panels on the roof. I saw the kit that you can get and it looks like basic strapping and screws.

I read all topics for DYI. I did have a question. I have a 12x24 oval, and I can't find aluminum in the area. Is there any other material that might work to span the 12' plus overlap? 2 3/4" fence posts. 1 3/4" galvenized? 3" PVC?

Update. I gave up on the sand filter and ordered a Hayward C900. It came in last weekend. After installing it saturday morning, let it run, and by 5 pm that day the pool was crystal clear again. I'm going to purchase and extra filter to make cleaning easier. Thanks to all.

Thanks, I'l check that tonite. I did check open it up a couple of weeks ago while having the same problem. It's kinda a one piece combo plastice and gasket. I didn't see any rips, but I'll have to look better. Any chance it may be the pump pushing to much water into the filter. It's a...

This weekend I decided to take the sand filter apart and check it out. Took the old sand out. Checked all laterals and piping and found no cracks or bad pieces. Put it back together and replaced the sand with new from pool store. Thought it could have been the Home Depot pool sand? I put a...

The temp in the liquadator was 83 and the pool temp was 86.

Re: Pool filter no filtering when adding CYA After checking the sand and it's good, not channelized. Do you'll think it may be the multi port? I checked the laterals this year when I replaced the sand.
