I would probably build a liner pool, with vinyl liner material over steel steps inside the pool. Get a new liner, get new step coverings. I had my liner made before I thought of this. Something like this liner company makes: Stairs & Special Features | Garrett

I really appreciate your reply. I am surprised and pleased they looked good for a few years. I have found the Olympic Step Renew kit online that is an epoxy coating for pool step refinishing. I will probably go that route. Next pool will not have fiberglass steps. Thanks again. Bob

Has anyone used EcoFinish, Rebound, epoxy, or other pool step refinishing material/process and have experience with the material longevity?
