Liner replacement and install in NJ

Update: It's been quite a ride finding an installer, but I did end up contracting a company I've done some business with before. I'm getting the Latham DUO MAX 27/20 mil Carnegie / Cobalt Fusion. I'll post some more detail as things go.

Liner replacement and install in NJ

Hello all, I haven't been on the forum in a while. TFP has been an awesome resource in the past and I'm hoping to get some recommendations. I need to replace an in-ground liner. It's at least 15 years old, completely faded and starting to leak. Pool is 32x16 rectangle, 8 feet at deep end, 3...

    Close now or wait?

That's what I was thinking. Next week, we're getting the "Leaf Monster" 40 foot ash tree that nearly hangs over the pool removed. I'm glad the pool is closed because I'd be spending at least 45 mins a day right now cleaning all the **** off the bottom. As soon as that tree is gone, I'll feel...

For the record, I wimped out and closed it. I looked at my calendar for October and knew it was now or never. Till next year. Thx, Splash

No snaps for me. Next year, I'm getting a mesh cover.

    Close now or wait?

I have just a basic cover with water tubes to hold it in place. I had thought about covering and / or putting the net on. I don't think the leaf net alone will work because the wind blows in smaller mulched leaf pieces left after I mow the lawn. They'd likely still get in the pool through the...

    Close now or wait?

Hello folks. 1st, a big thanks to all the pool online community for helping me make my 1st season very successful. I just couldn't have done it with out you  So, this is a "what would you do" question. My pool water temp is still hovering above 60 degrees (about 65 now) and I was...

    Ants

I have very small ants making their home underneath my liner and concrete decking. They're not carpenter ants and seem too small to do any real damage. They're just a few millimeters in length. That said, I'd rather them find a new home. Obviously, it's not a good idea to use pesticides anywhere...

Chlorine Date Code Decoder/Easy Way to Measure Strength.

Ah yes, but wouldn't the chlorine weigh differently than water per ml?

Chlorine Date Code Decoder/Easy Way to Measure Strength.

Interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the kitchen scale is measuring by weight where as the syringe is measuring by volume right? So, would they be the same proportionally?

Algae Nearly Gone After Being Closed for 2 Years.

You're on the right track from this day forward. You've sought the good advise that is offered here. The rest is up to you. Do as Brushpup said, read as as much as you can, and you'll be returning those chlorine tablets and floaters you bought soon enough. Good luck and welcome.

Pool store says Sodium Hydrogen is 3X stronger than Sodium Bicarbonate.

Aaahhh.... maybe they're snorting the product???? Seriously, it's "3x as good" but costs 10x + as much as baking soda. Sounds like BioBS to me.
