Skimmer door got jammed by toys

A couple of years ago I saw a guard plate at a pool store that snapped into the skimmer opening. It jutted out into the water a few inches with a grill face and provided enough water area around and behind it that no amount of toys or such would do what you described. It appeared to be a real...

New Doughboy Pool - Comments Welcome

my thoughts: I wish I could ditch the doughboy brands of skimmer , return and pump just because of their weird size molded barb fittings. it makes hard plumbing the pool much harder. would they be willing to offer other brands of that stuff? also with their pump and filter I have not found any...

Help switching from Sustain System to BBB

I switched from this sustain system a couple of years ago. I don't remember having the trouble you are having, but then again I was not exactly as well versed in all the chemical balancing acts back then either. I do remember my pool store telling me that I would need to add this summer shield...

    Mesh Winter Cover?

Well, since no one has responded to you yet, I will weigh in. I do not drain my pool anymore. I have a "tupperware" type seal for the skimmer and a plug for the return. I have not had to add water to the pool when I open in many years. I am also using a mesh cover so water and snow doesn't sit...

    Solid or Mesh covers?

I have become a mesh person. I do have some sediment in the spring when I open. It takes a couple of vacuums to get it gone, but I am not out in the winter worrying about water or snow. No worrys about the weight on the pool either. Maybe with an IG pool I would feel differently????

    Solar cover life

I am on year 2 for my 8 mil cover. I am noticing a few bubbles collecting in the skimmer, so I am thinking that if I try to get a 3rd year out of it, it will probably fall apart. I bought mine during the winter months and did a lot of searching on-line to compare prices. I bought a 28' round...

    Liquidator Issues

Take a look at this thread - liquidator-installed-below-pool-level-t12287.html As you can tell from that thread, you are not alone with overflow problems with installing the LQ with ABG pools. Not to be a Debby Downer, but I didn't even bother to install my LQ this year. I couldn't trust it not...

    Toy storage on AGP deck

I am out of town on vacation right now and posting from my phone. When I get back, I will do a parts list and elaborate on the attaching. Too much to type on my phone.

Connecting hard PVC to a ribbed Hose fitting

I have a post in this thread that shows how I did mine since I also had the molded barbed fittings- http://www.troublefreepool.com/installing-liquidator-and-plumbing-on-above-ground-pool-agp-t31969.html Hope that helps.

No drain holes in solar cover?

That's why I come here, you learn something every day. Never knew they would sink. :o

No drain holes in solar cover?

I have never had one that had holes. If you trim it to fit your pool, the water will just level out . I have never had one sink. I really never thought sinking one was even possible.

    Deep ends and AGP's

Mine is scooped out in the middle to about 5'. Mine is round though. I can't see why you couldn't' do the same with an oval pool too.
