Help to Adjust - Low pH, High TA, Chlorine won't hold

Thank you!! So I don't need to worry about the high TA, just get my pH and CYA up and start the SLAM process. That makes my life so much easier. I was concerned about the TA. Thanks again.

Help to Adjust - Low pH, High TA, Chlorine won't hold

Thank you. If I continue to use pucks, how long would it take to get CYA up, in your opinion? I was going to go back to bleach, but if I can use some of these pucks up and not hurt anything, that would be great. We stopped using pucks when we purchased the home because the CYA was around 200...

Help to Adjust - Low pH, High TA, Chlorine won't hold

It's clear. I wouldn't say it's sparking crystal clear, but it's not cloudy. The shallow end has no green at all. The deep end just has a slight slight slight tint, barely noticeable and perhaps it's just trees, but it looks a little different than what it normally does. Edit - I mean, I can...

Help to Adjust - Low pH, High TA, Chlorine won't hold

Dear all, I'm hoping for some advice. Pool was down for a week due to leak repair, unable to run filter/add chemicals/open cover. At start of season I blew thru 25 lbs of Powder Plus shock 73% Cal-Hypo trying to get CC gone (never could, but did get it below 0.5). Purchased home w/ pool last...

Help identifying pool cover motor equipment pieces & troubleshooting - SAF-T 2 Cover

I got the brakes back in place by adjusting the bolt as in pic, thank you! I have not adjusted the wing nuts yet, the ropes are not rolling up all nice, they are going back and forth over each other. Do you have links for redoing and straightening out the ropes?

Help identifying pool cover motor equipment pieces & troubleshooting - SAF-T 2 Cover

Thank you to all! Does anyone think I could use something to remove the WD40 residue from the rope reels? Like rubbing alcohol or brake cleaner? I will search for how to unroll and fix the ropes unless anyone has a link to a particular thread? Still thinking we could avoid trying to find a...

Help identifying pool cover motor equipment pieces & troubleshooting - SAF-T 2 Cover

Hi, brand new pool owner. Sav-T 2 pool cover motor (it's OLD). Per previous owner, the rails installed have never been right and it causes problems with the cover. Right now, one side of pool cover opens a few inches earlier than the other. That's really the least of the problems as of this...

Am I on the right path? New pool owner - inherited a beast?

FYI only - some follow-up testing earlier today: FC 10.6 CC 0.8 pH - was very close to 7.0, but not quite! Added only 4 drops to get it to read 7.2. This is a GREAT improvement from where we started.

Am I on the right path? New pool owner - inherited a beast?

Forgot to mention, tested CYA using dilution method and the black dot disappeared - still the line was under 100. That leads me to believe our CYA could be 200 or more!!! Recall our Leslie's readings ranged between 125 to 177.

Am I on the right path? New pool owner - inherited a beast?

All great advice! The water rate in Wichita is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper from Dec - Mar, and not only is it cheaper, the summer rate per 1,000 gallons is based on your winter usage. So if I end up using more in the Dec-Mar timeframe, my summer rates will be lower. Sounds weird, but true. If under...
