New EVO 614i Robot Pool Cleaner Review

I was just about to pull the trigger on a Dolphin Premier on Amazon but decided I should take a look at the forum one more time. Glad I did. While I believe in “buy once, cry once” these aren’t one time purchases. Additionally, Based on Jim’s exhaustive review and endorsement of Marina store...

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

I read your review. Thanks for all the detail and because of it, that product is the leader in the clubhouse.

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

I don’t have a robot yet. I was trying to get educated about all that before I bought one. I assume “the wire” is the power cord. Do the motor(s) go to neutral when unpowered to facilitate retrieval?

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

i didn’t get properly educated by the Mayco dealer/salesman/installer about how to mange a Mayco mesh cover. When I pulled it back around Memorial Day, I had a stroke. Don’t want to go thru that again. Here in NE OK, we get yellow oak tree fur well into May. Meanwhile, we are prolly getting...

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

What does “comes back” mean? That makes it sound like it’s “smart”? How does it know where to come back to? (I realize this is thread creep, I’ll go study and perhaps start new thread about robot cleaners if necessary.)

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

I’m playing on doing that. I wasn’t sure how well a robot works, how many times do you have to empty it, etc. I was thinking that the least amount of leaves would help make that process go better.

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

I was thinking about that as well. I was curious if anyone had used those that way and if it was effective.

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

The leaf wars have begun. And I’m always victorious. But it is a dirty and lengthy one.

Looking to leaf proof Mayco cover

Last season was first winter with a Mayco mesh cover. In addition to letting in a LOT of dirt, there was a considerable amount of leaves in the pool. Apparently the cover will lift a little when the wind is blowing hard here in Oklahoma (last couple of days getting near 40 mph gusts) and the...

    Stains in pool

Update: used JM stain identification kit yesterday evening with no conclusive indications of what kind of stains I have. I ordered two kits because I had a feeling it wasn’t going to be as easy and as straight forward as the directions implied. I’m going to call JM and see if they have any...

    Stains in pool

What is your definition of a lot of brushing? I’m doing it almost everyday. I’ve positioned a small “bilge” pump that I used to drain my solid cover in the deep end of pool. I’ve watched visible yard debris migrate across the bottom. In my opinion, I’m getting good circulation. My OCLT this...

    Stains in pool

No, I don’t have a pool cleaner. Hasn’t been a problem since I discovered TFP and did proper water chemistry. Now when, I had a pool “service” that was different. But we all know that.

    Stains in pool

I’m going to reSLAM and then yellow algae slam for 24 hours. I had what I considered to be an inordinate amount of chlorine loss during the day yesterday. The OLCT was 2. When I brush the walls and floor, there are clouds of something swirling around the brush head. Additionally, I don’t have...
