Will DE permanently foul a new cartridge filter?

I'm preparing to plumb in a new Pentair CCP520. It is replacing a Pentair FNS Plus 60 DE filter. The DE filter is 24 years old and I'm constantly getting DE back into my pool. I've gone over all the usual culprits. I'm done with DE. Now, before I plumb the new filter in, should I find a way...

    Saltsolutions.com 40k gal SWG Cell

I've had no issues with 2 rebuilt cells provided by Salt Solutions. Both operated just fine and lasted me about 4 years each.

    Saltsolutions.com 40k gal SWG Cell

I know you have already stated that you have cancelled your order, but I have experience with Salt Solutions that is relevant to this discussion. I have twice now ordered a rebuilt T-15 cell from them and both times the shipping of the replacement cell was immediate (I paid them whatever their...

Can Anyone Recommend a CircuPool CORE-55? If So Why?!

Thanks for the replies guys! Can you tell me what type connector is used for the salt cell to control box connection. My personal opinion is that the Molex connection on the original design by Hayward is completely inadequate for the amount of power being handled.

Can Anyone Recommend a CircuPool CORE-55? If So Why?!

I've just now seen, by viewing the online owners manual for the CircuPool CORE-55, the limitation on power settings. Probably a deal breaker for me as well. Maybe something else from them like the RJ-60 PLUS.

Can Anyone Recommend a CircuPool CORE-55? If So Why?!

Thanks for the information. One of the things I think I would like to try is oversizing the chlorine generating capability and running the chlorinator at a lesser cycle and see what kind of extended cell life I cound get, if any.

Can Anyone Recommend a CircuPool CORE-55? If So Why?!

I'm debating the replacement of yet another Hayward T-Cell-15 and associated PCB-RITE board. I get that the cells are a life limited part that is going to need replacement over time. On the other hand, I'm really tired of replacing the PCB's as well. I've rebuilt the boards myself, had a...

    High consumption of salt

I'm with the others here in thinking your cell is on it's last legs. I just replaced mine. It lasted 6 years. I would zero the reading out to get rid of the historical values and it would only last a day before the instant reading it was "seeing" would take the average down to where my...

    Replacement Backwash Valve

Thanks for the input guys, Since posting I have also found this valve online: http://www.pentairpool.com/products/valves-fullfloxf-high-performance-backwash-valve-450.htm This one, I'm sure, would be a no brainer installation. I'm just not sure I like it as well as the Jandy. If you look at...

    Replacement Backwash Valve

Greetings All, I have not posted on this forum in quite a while, but I know you guys can help me out. My pool is 16 years old now and I have been having to replace a few things over the past few years due to age. My backwash valve, I believe, is contributing to D.E. getting into the pool...

    Stainless Steel vs. Fiberglass Filter

That's good to know. Thank you for the input. I would just hate to go to the extra expense of a stainless filter only to find out years down the road that I would have done just as good with fiberglass.

    Stainless Steel vs. Fiberglass Filter

I've thought about the spray paint. It should also help cut down on the UV that is getting to the tank surface. Maybe help it last a little longer. The other concern I have with the stainless is the fact I'm using a salt system for chlorination now. I know stainless is supposed to be quite...

    Stainless Steel vs. Fiberglass Filter

Which filter housing material do you pro's prefer? I'm looking at my filter lasting maybe another season or two and I'm wondering if a stainless steel filter tank woul be of any real benefit. I use a salt system for chlorination. The current filter is a Purex Triton FNS-Plus, 60 sq/ft. I...
