    Inefficient use of chlorine?

When I open the pool for summer and take the cover off, the water is normally grey/brown/black. My first step is to SLAM during that opening process. Is it normal to SLAM after ending the winterization?

    Inefficient use of chlorine?

Sometimes when balancing the chemicals at the beginning of the season, I get lazy. Sure, I'll pour in enough chlorine to get the FC to shock level for the CYA. But then maybe I get busy and skip a day then pour in enoguh chlorine to get back to shock level and keep repeating this bad habit...

I'm intrigued to try a deep clean of my sand filter in the spring: Deep Cleaning a Sand Filter ...but I haven't been able to find any tips on how to deal with all that water that will be overflowing out of the top of the sand filter tank. My filter is inside a structure and the overflow...

eyeball return - metal vs plastic

I have a couple old return jet eyeballs and I was looking online for replacements. What struck me was everything I found so far is plastic. Should I perhaps switch these metal ones out for plastic ones?
