Yes I have a skimmer and have been using the skimmer socks for about 4 months or so now. I have also tried adding a little DE but can't add very much as my pressure will increase too much. Looks like I will need to consider a new pump/filter.

Thanks for the reply. My thought was to make a small retaining wall using some pressure treated wood (6x6 or 4x6). Drill holes in the lumber and insert 3-4 foot pieces of rebar.
