Do I really have to drain 63% of my water?

When I had a sand filter and even now, if your pool has a lot of debris or dirt it can easily fill and need backwash in half a day.

where is the pentair bonding wire lug?

Mine is the same as Jim’s, it connects to an 8ga copper wire that runs around the entire pool deck and ties it to the panel bonding ground.

Intelliflow pump throws house breaker but not easy touch load center breaker

I appreciate all the help from both of you. The pump is bonded and there are the standard 3 lines coming out of the pump. All three are 12ga. 2 red and one green. Jim. How did you keep the swg and the intelliflow on separate breakers like pump says to while ensuring the swg shuts off if the...

Intelliflow pump throws house breaker but not easy touch load center breaker

Ok. Now the real problem! None of the local folks. Have a double pole Gfci breaker in less than 50 amp. Al kinds of single pole 20 amp gfci. So what do I do? Home Depot, menards, Lowe’s day they can order in but that’s days from now. Green pool is not what I’m looking for. Can I use 2...

Intelliflow pump throws house breaker but not easy touch load center breaker

When I first installed the intelliflow I actually did just that- I connected the pump to the always powered side of the relay and left the swg on the other poles(powered on with relay control). That is what popped the House line. I assumed (incorrectly?) it was overloading due to 3hp high...

AT-100 sand filter - sand replacement

Why are you replacing your sand? I had a sand filter for 4 years before switching to de and never replaced it. Just clean as needed. No experience with gravel but would assume it’s on top as the sand would simply fill the voids and end up on bottom if put in after gravel.

Intelliflow pump throws house breaker but not easy touch load center breaker

    1) replace main panel breaker- will do, have one on hand. But, I have always heard that GFCI breakers [20amp DP] have always supplied VSP's. [NEC rule in 2011-12] Answer/Question- my old pump and IC20 had 30amp is that an issue? 2) put in a Siemens QF220 GFCI DP 20amp breaker...

Intelliflow pump throws house breaker but not easy touch load center breaker

Jim, Thanks! Makes sense and worth a try! Cheaper than buying a new pump if it works. I’ll head to the store and get a new breaker. Any thoughts on tying in the IC 20? Old setup had pump and IC 20 on same 30amp breaker and same relay(pool) so IC is not on unless pump is. The intelliflow says...

Do people drain a lot their SWG pool before opening when they need to SLAM?

I’ve had my swg since 2012 whenI built the pool. I drain at least 1 & 1/2 feet of water. Winter temps determine what opening looks like in spring. Cold summer with snow and ice gets us a clear pool. Warm winter with rain gets me a green pool that takes a couple hours to a day to clear. I use...
