Bleach Prices 2014

For the Florida folks, Pinch-a-Penny has a coupon on their site that is good over the memorial day weekend for Buy One Get One Free for the 2.5 jug refills. That works out to 640 oz for about 5.65 or $0.084 an oz.

Note this is only for the refill (the jugs are an additional cost if you don't have them already).

Has anyone bought Liquid bleach at the local Leslie's pool store here in Houston?

I just bought some Muriatic acid from them 2 gallons for $11. I asked about liquid chlorine and the guy said they sell it by the case 4 jugs of 1 gallon bleach and the concentration is 15%. Cost is 15 bucks. Can one get bleach at 15% concentration or did he just read the label wrong?

I've been picking up bleach at my local Walmart they sell the 121oz jugs at 8.25% for 3.50. I have a bunch if 50 cent off coupons that I've been using to get them for $3. When I do the math the bleach at Leslie's is cheaper if the concentration is correct.

The liquid chlorine at the Houston area Leslie's is not 15%. It is 10% if that. I am surprised they knew what it was if you did not ask for it by the pool store name. It's liquid shock. I got the same answer one time. I also got the it should not be used all the time, high TDS story. The nice lady did not have an answer when I showed her the time stamp and that it was over a year old.

Picked up some "Pool Shock" 12.5% at Ollie's in Rochester NY today.
Price was $2.99 a gallon and I had a 15% off coupon, so final price was $2.54 a gallon or .16/oz
Date was printed on the side of the carton and was good, be sure to check.

This is the best deal I can get around here. Wegmans was 14.99 for 4 gallons of 12.5% last year, not sure if it went up or not.

The flyer for Ace in our area has Chlorinating Tablets :pth:, granular shock :pth:, liquid clarifier :pth: and algae guard :pth:. All HTH brand. No liquid shock listed. I'll probably still stop in and check it out to see if they have the good stuff.

Try calling the store and ask if you can order part number 8006454 and if it will be the same price as the south ($5.00 for 2 gallons of 10% HTH brand).

Was in Ollie's in St. Clairsville,OH this morning and they still had a few cases left. I got one and a couple 150 sq-ft rolls of weed barrier for $5 each.

well FYI I just called my nearest ace in Houston, and they did have the 10% HTH for 2.50 per gallon. They had 9 so I bought those and ordered 35 per 2.50 each...

seems like a decent price!

I found this today at a local pool supply store. 10% bleach. Tomorrow I'll stock up and then do a restock by the end of June.

Yes, my Fleet Farm also had about 6 boxes left at 9.99 for 4. Not in the add just on a pallet in the isle....maybe when it's gone it's gone mentality. I can't imagine they will re-order. I got a couple to bring my stock up to 20 gal but may go back for a couple more. I see a slam in my future......

Ran by Riviera pools of Dallas this weekend searching for 12.5%. 4 gallons for $25 which is about 11 cents an ounce higher than Clorox at Sam's club.

"We don't sell a lot of liquid chlorine to DIY types because it's harder to keep up with than pucks...our guys use it"

Sigh.

Otherwise nice friendly folks who I'd probably buy something else from if I needed it :)
