Would this SWG work for my pool?

I am looking at purchasing a SWG that someone has for sale, never installed. My pool is a 28' Doughboy, 18k gallons. This is the Circupool Universal55.

Would this be overkill? I know you should go at least 2x larger but wasn't sure if this was too large.

No it work, Just might need to run it at the lowest setting.
Just be careful with used stuff that makes claims like " It belonged to my mom who never used it" type comments. Might mean " I stole it off the UPS truck"
Ask for proof they purchased it if possible

If it's no questions brand new, that's a steal. A SJ-35 and controller, more or less the 2X unit that you 'need' in order to only have to run it 12 hours in the peak season, is $929 plus tax.

The 60% longer lifespan of the 55 series is entirely gravy in this case.

The 'used' 55k unit only needs to last 79% as long as a new 35 series in order to break even. If it goes the distance, you're up huge.

So that's the gamble.......Does this unit have 79% of its life left ?
