We just got our fiberglass pool installed this summer and we decided not to close it. What chemicals do I need to keep an eye on?

Right now the chlorinator is set to 0, so there is no cholorine. Ph is good, 7.8. The salt is at 2,400 but not sure if I need to add more salt in the winter or not.

We do have some green algae growing on the sides, which I just brushed.

Chlorine is king. Always follow this link—>FC/CYA Levels. Doesn’t matter the temps.

Use liquid chlorine when it is too cold for SWCG.

With visible algae, time for SLAM. Should be short with cold temps. Link—>SLAM Process

Thanks! What about the salt level? Do I worry about it now or just increase the level once we are ready to start using again?

Wait until you start using it again. No need for it now, might get diluted with winter snow/rain, and it will dissolve easier in warm water.
