Why is sand coming out of pump on rinse

There was no pressure on backwash. Changed sand and made sure not to get sand in tube. Checked laterals and seen no cracks. Now have pressure while pump running, but place on rinse and there is sand pouring out. Had the pump for 7 years and never had this happen? Put knee high on eye and no sand coming into pool?

Maybe you added too much sand?
