It's looking like my L shaped inground vinyl pool will fall aroudn 30-35k gallons. i dont know how it gets so big but it is.

any chance the 1.5hp pump is big enough? i'm having issues finding the specs of it.

only water feature i may have is a couple bubblers on the baja ledge. no heater except maybe a DIY solar

a,

The size of the pool has really nothing to do with buying a VS pump..

I never recommend buying a small (1.5 HP).. The larger (3 HP) pumps can move more water at slower speeds and this makes them much quieter.

A small pump will work, but the larger pump will just work better.

Thanks,

Its a $500 difference between the two, which is enough but not a deal breaker i guess. it can turn down low enough that i wouldn't be wasting electricity getting the bigger pump? I'm in cali and power is hella expensive here and i'm trying to get solar going so power consumption does kind of matter. 2" pvc is my plan.

a,

I know our rates are not the same, but I run my 10 year old IntelliFlo 24/7, mostly at 1200 RPM, for way less than $20 bucks a month.. More like $12 a month, but I always use $20 because of the various rates that other members pay.

The IntelliFlo3 is newer and much more energy efficient.

Cost to run it will not be an issue..

Thanks,
