When are you adding chlorine ?

Last night it was 5.0
This morning it was 4.5
I added to bring up to 7.0

Should I check and add in the morning or evening ?
The sun is burning about 2.0 during the day which is 32-64 oz of chlorine

I generally check FC and add chlorine in the evening after the sun is off the pool.

Either works so long as your properly using the recent history as your guide.

In the first half of the season, you'll occasionally see you need more daily FC as the UV demand increases. For the back half you'll occasionally realize you added too much. Think of the seasonal loss as a bell curve then do your best to match it.

The key is to always have enough to remain free and clear above min. There is leeway all the way up to SLAM above target, and very little leeway below target level. When you goof, goof high.

Once everything is good and I'm in maintenance mode, I add chlorine once the sun has gone down. My theory is the more time it has before the sun starts burning it off the better.

Going to bring my high side up to 8 or 9 so its not at my low of 5
Only going to check it and add chemicals once a day in the evening from now on.
