what is this?

Just had pool replastered a couple of months ago. I have balanced and kept balance the pool during this time, but can't seem to clear up the bottom of the pool.

It looks like dirt on the bottom and has a marble like look. I've attached a couple of pictures that may help in determining what it is.

It looks like etching, but is that on top of the paint? Or is the floor not painted? What does it feel like?

If that part is not painted, have you been brushing and maintaining a steady pH? There is an article in Pool School about Starting Up New Plaster...

Looks like it could just be regular mottling that most plaster gets. It's hard to pic out the shadows from your plaster in the pics. Can you post better pics and pics that show the entire pool?

Here are some pictures. Hard to really show. If you zoom in you will see what looks like someone poured something on the plaster.

The pool is no longer painted.

I see nothing unusual in those pics. It looks exactly like the mottling I have in my plaster.
