What if my salt level is at 6000?

Nothing's broken, everything works, salt level is 3200. But it made me wonder, what would happen if my salt level was twice that?

Would the salt deteriorate the pool? The plumbing? Would the chlorine generator still make chlorine? Would algae, etc even grow in that?
 
The water would be corrosive to metals. Depending on the brand of SWCG it might or might not generate. Algae would have no problem growing.
