Curious - how long did y’all water your Gunite or Shotcrete concrete (specifically during hot, dry months)?

Among those I know who built a pool in the last 3 years, I’ve heard everything from 0 to 28 days. Quite a range!

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I got my gunite in march, so it was fairly cold. In fact I had it covered and out a heater in there for the first week as nighttime temperatures got into the 30’s. I watered for about 8-9 days.

I’m no expert, so maybe others will chime in, but 7-10 days seems like a fairly standard time. During hot months I’d make sure to water it more frequently or get a sprinkler on it.

First 3 days are the most critical. The next 4-5 days are somewhat important. After that I did not bother. My concrete was not shot in the summer, though.

In this Texas heat I would water as frequently as practical (you cannot over do it). Start watering in the morning.
