Does anyone make a water softener specifically for a pool? A unit that can be placed outside in direct sunlight by the other pool equipment. If I can soften the water supply that feeds my autofill, I can eliminate one headache….CH too high. My municipal water supply is 240 ppm. My pool is in AZ and the water loss due to evaporation is high. It doesn’t take long for the CH to to become too high. It’s been about 6 weeks since a complete drain and refill. In that six weeks, my CH has increased 120 ppm and it’s not even that hot yet.

I have a RV softener as well. It's not the best solution but it works. Mine is a bit larger than Kul's. Manual flushing is a pain.

If you have access to the water fill line, an electrical source, and access to the sewer cleanout for flushing, this may be a good solution. Cheaper than my RV softener. I'm on septic so it's a no-go for me. It wouldn't take much to make an enclosure to protect the unit from the elements.

Any do's/don'ts for plumbing rv water softener in water fill line? I want it easy to remove as I think they all require manual regeneration.
