Am I starting to see a pattern of when my FC is low I don't have as much uv loss as when it is high? EXAMPLE : Say I start out in the morning with a FC of 20 and loose 7-8 ppm by sunset..........but if I start at FC of 10 in the morning I only loose 4-5 by sunset. cya, ambient temp, uv index all would be the same for both scenarios in the example. Thanks

FC burns off as a %, and empirically we have seen that it becomes real noticeable at 20+.

Day to day, the higher FC needed for higher CYA levels is mostly a wash with the extra protection given by the higher CYA, but if you have to SLAM, that 28 FC target is going to donate extra FC to the sun and be costly.

If it wasn't for the possibility of a SLAM, we'd likely reccomend everyone follow SWG targets for CYA for maximum FC protection.
