I have the opportunity to purchase a 15x48 round Hampton pool. It includes the deck, pump, filter, etc all for $500. It will then cost another $1,000 to get it moved and set up at my residence. My concern is the rust Around the pipe In that picture. The pool Itself is about 4 years old (supposedly)

Should I be worried about the rust?

That does seem like a good deal. You will also have to buy a new liner as, so far, we have not seen ANY liners that could be reused once removed from the pool :(

Next item is the rust. I worry the rust on the inside is worst than what you can see on the outside. One thing you could do is put in a piece of sheet metal to replace the bad spot.

I would ask them to lower the water a bit and carefully remove the liner BESIDE that spot just enough to see that spot on the inside.

If the pool bottom track can't be seen at that point.....I'd do a little exploratory excavation there to see if maybe it popped out of the bottom track or rusted. It may well be that the pool is just that little bit out of round or a tad sunken there due to skimmer overflow from rain.
