Trying to grasp this whole pool thing

I tend to check FC & pH every day, maybe miss one here and there. Now that I have my Stenner I may get lax a little with that once it is dialed in a little better. Weekly I check TA & CH (gunite pool). Unless i do something that would change CYA like a large water change no need in checking that.

I just checked -

FC - 1.5 ppm
CC - .5 ppm
CYA - 50

I am going to add 33oz of FC as per PoolMath to bring it up to 3 ppm. Will check again tomorrow... and will get pH level.

Now that the CYA has dissolved, your FC is much too low.

With a CYA of 50ppm, you can NEVER let it drop below 4ppm. You should be targeting 7-8ppm every day to be sure it does not drop below 4ppm.

I thought the "ideal" FC level was 1.5 - 3ppm..... ? ******. Its because my CYA level is at 50... ok I got it.

Thanks for the chart... I will add more FC today and try to keep my FC level at about 6ppm daily.

Aim for 7-8. It will drop during the day, so at the end of the day (or the next time you dose), you don't want FC to ever fall below 5.
