This was a 1000 year storm, "in the future" may be several hundred years away. I wouldn't worry too much about it happening again.

FYI a 1000yr storm means 0.1% chance of it happening in a year. A 100yr storm
is 1% chance per year, 50yr storm 2% chance per year and so on. Its a measurement of probability, not the time taken to reoccur. As an engineer I calculate this quite often and always see people make the incorrect assumption. FYI this year we had 2x 50yr storms, a 150yr storm and a 1500yr storm within half an hour of where I live. Hope your pool is looking good by now
