Hello,
Our neighborhood got slammed by a high EF-2 tornado a few days ago. We were lucky and missed the actual path by a couple hundred feet, some beautiful trees down and stuff, but the rotation pulled everything away from the house, so we're overall ok. Unlike some neighbors who are missing entire roofs, trusses and all.
A good bit of roofing and trees and stuff ended up in our pool. Including tar paper, insulation, and shingles. We were basically done for the year in a few weeks anyway, and we're having new plaster, tile, and coping in the spring.
So far all we've had time to do is a brief skim and I've kept the chlorine up and pump running like normal.
Anything special I should be thinking about other than just fishing everything out? Will the roofing material or insulation do damage? We already have an insurance claim for other stuff, anything they would help with or do anything about?
Thanks.
