Tornado Cleanup

Hello,

Our neighborhood got slammed by a high EF-2 tornado a few days ago. We were lucky and missed the actual path by a couple hundred feet, some beautiful trees down and stuff, but the rotation pulled everything away from the house, so we're overall ok. Unlike some neighbors who are missing entire roofs, trusses and all.

A good bit of roofing and trees and stuff ended up in our pool. Including tar paper, insulation, and shingles. We were basically done for the year in a few weeks anyway, and we're having new plaster, tile, and coping in the spring.

So far all we've had time to do is a brief skim and I've kept the chlorine up and pump running like normal.

Anything special I should be thinking about other than just fishing everything out? Will the roofing material or insulation do damage? We already have an insurance claim for other stuff, anything they would help with or do anything about?

Thanks.

You are so fortunate and the news coverage of the NE states that have been hit by Ida are overwhelming.
The main item of debris to look for is nails or anything that is metal that could stain or damage the surface over time.
Ensure all your equipment is working fine and do a good cleaning of your filter, skimmer baskets and pump basket.
Good luck and great you are getting a remodel in 2022.
