Timer change

Hello,

A few days ago my intermatic pool timer (tp104p201) stopped shutting on and off. I tried replacing the trippers, but it did not solve the problem.

So I'm planning to replace the timer clock itself and the motor. It has been difficult to find the tp104p201. Can I replace it with the tp104m found here (intermatic T104M 24 h Mechanical Timer DPST Mechanism https://a.co/d/1dGXAQL) or will I lose the pool heater protection of my current timer?

You can replace the timer mechanism with a T104M.

The heater shutoff is a separate piece and should be reusable on the new timer mechanism. Just pay attention to how things disassemble so you know how to put the pieces back together.
