I have an old sand dollar sand filter and Pentair pump on my pool. (Not sure what size ) it seems to be doing fine but it’s old and runs 24/7 I’m thinking about going to a two speed or a vs What brand would you recamend. I think I want to stay with a sand filter.

If things are working, why not leave the plumbing alone and just replace the motor with something more efficient? Inyopools has several guides that discuss how to identify the motor frame and how to wire up a two speed or a variable speed How to Guides - Swimming Pool Supplies - INYOPools.com

And why do you run the pump 24/7? Seems like overkill.
Sorry I missed this. Well I ran 24/7 because I was lazy I guess lol. Plus I leave for work at 4am and don’t get till around 9pm. By then I’m tired
But my timer came in yesterday and got it installed. So now only runs about 6 hours a day.
