There goes the CC again. I added some bleach for good measure. I'll go out in an hour and do one last test for FC and start the OCLT test.

Now it's going up. I guess it's safe to say the OCLT won't work yet. At the end of the day, four bags of cal hypo were used and tomorrow I'm gonna stock up on some bleach. Also I was concerned about clouding from the cal hypo, and I wanted some info on the possibility of it. It happened one time last summer but that was it, and I had no clue what was going on.

If that's a current image, there is no point in performing an OCLT until the water is clear.

Takes care of another problem. I've poured three jugs of 8.3% bleach.

I did five tests, spread apart by 1h30m to 2h each. Pool still looks bad but the chlorine take is slowing down thankfully.

Just to be certain, are you following the Chlorine/CYA chart (link in my signature)? If your FC was 10 and CYA is 50, your SLAM level is 20. With a 12,000 gallon pool and 8.3% bleach, you should have added 1 gallon, 1 quart and 2 cups to be exact (according to PoolMath).

Yeah, I checked the pool chart. I believe I ended the day with 24 FC and added another jug of bleach for the night just to be sure. I've grown to be paranoid...

I'm not dead! The pool is fixed but it's a suuuuper long story and I'm not sure if this is the place to share it. I have pics of before and after.
