Test Strips

I have some water in a hole that was dug by the pool and when tested it is coming up with colors on the first strip below.
The pool strip test is the second one.
Any idea what would make the first strip test so bright? Just wanting to make sure the pool is not leaking.

Do you have CYA in your pool? If yes, test the water in the hole for CYA. If there’s CYA in there you have a leak. Most importantly, ditch the strips and get a good testing kit.

I’m not sure about the CYA! I did buy the good testing kit but unsure how to use it yet.

Test strips are wonky and have been bringing folks to TFP for 18(?) years.

Maybe they make sense , maybe they don't.

Block off everything but one test, in this case, CYA. Gather the supplies in order and have at it. If you look at each step one at a time, it couldn't be simpler. Zoom out to the whole page and BOOM, rocket science.
