take apart a Jacuzzi EW75 Earthworks DE filter

So I have an old (2004) Jacuzzi Earth works EW75 DE filter. The filter is dumping some DE back into the pool. I took the filter apart to look for a tear, but couldn’t find one. I don’t know how to get the DE grids apart, so I can inspect them closer.

The ring is not threaded and it seems to just be jammed into the area between the manifold pipe and the bottom tray that holds the DE grids. I think I can just grab the wings on the retainer ring with pliers and pull it out. I am not sure how it would go back together.
Has anyone worked with these filters and know how the retention ring works?

It looks like that's how it comes apart and goes back together. I would call them and ask, but it sure looks like it to me.

I think Jacuzzi pool is out of business.

I still don't see how I can get the retention ring back in place.

Looks like a stop by the pool store to ask them.
