SWG Plumbing Question

We plan on adding a SWG to our pool, but have two distinct returns to the pool. One through the heater, and a separate one through the solar array straight to the pool (does not enter the pool equipment area).

I've read that the SWG needs to be downstream of the heater, but this would not allow the SWG to work while using solar.

Installing the SWG before the diverter valve (solar or gas heater) would allow it to function at all times. I plan on plumbing a bypass around the gas heater (we rarely use it), it will be bypassed 99% of the time.

Any other reasons not to have the SWG before the diverter valve?

thx, Dave
