I’m getting ready to open our pool (we live in Florida) and after taking several tests and adding chemicals, I’ve got everything in spec (PH, Alk, Cal, CYA, Borates, and Phosphates), but I cannot get and chlorine levels no matter what I try. I’ve cranked up my SW Chlorine Gen to max, dumped several bags of shock, and even a few gals of liquid chlorine, but I still cannot get a reading on my Taylor test kit. Should I slam the pool?
Thanks for any help!

Your pH is fat fingered as 78.

What test kit do you have?

How long after you add liquid chlorine do you test your FC?

Pour in 10 ppm of liquid chlorine and test after 30 minutes.

Johnny..... can you give us some accurate test results:
FC
CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA
Salt if applicable

You do your own home testing, with an approved test kit...right?? THIS is a *must* for quality water and protection of equipment.

Fill out your signature with pool, pool equipment (manufacturers and model numbers) and test kit info.

This assists us in providing quality help based on your pool specifics without having to ask you for info each time.

Post a full set of current test result here or in PoolMath.
Be sure the info is correct and decimal points are in the correct locations.
