Stenner installation - plumbing question

I plan my Stenner pump installation including the removal of the inline chlorinator. As you can see from the photo, after leaving the filter, the pipe is routed doing that extra arch. The tee fitting is about to go where the chlorinator sits now. Is there a reason why this extra arch was introduced? Can I just route the pipe directly the same height as the filter outlet?
Thank you for your advice!

Only the original plumber knows for sure!! Or it could have been done during a repair as there appears to be extra couplings to space it out. Go for the simplest and most direct route if you can. Even the pipe from the pump to the filter has an extra Ell that could have been avoided by going straight over then directly down to the Ell going into the filter inlet.

Good Luck. Show us the finished product when you are done.
