Starting my first SLAM

Numbers don't look too bad- CYA testing in your own shadow is the correct procedure -indirect sunlight.

CH can only come from fill water or additions of calcium and its quite a difference. Yes good to get a CH measure for your fill water or perhaps testing error in procedure either before or after SLAM.

Watch your FC level its bordering on the minimum- try and get it up around the 5/6 mark.

Hose refills can indeed add to CH if your local water is hard. Not sure if you are using a speed stir, but it can make a difference as well for better testing. Just take a peek at the CSI row on the Poolmath calculator from time to time to ensure your CSI number is not too high (over.6).

As for the CYA, you are outside in the bright sunlight but your body (torso) will block direct sunlight. So it looks like 40 is your good number. :)
