I’ve been getting about 2 years per spider gasket on a 2” Sta-Rite multi valve. It turns gummy, sticky, and starts falling apart where it comes in contact with the water on the filter setting. I’m assuming this is from the chlorine. I don’t use any other chemicals. I use Pentair branded replacements.

Is this normal?

Normal gaskets last 8-10 years plus and easily resist the level of chlorine in a normal pool. There is either something wrong with the gasket material (try another brand, maybe) or some other ingredient has been added to your pool that is attacking the gasket.

I’ll find another brand.
Since you'll be opening the MPV, give that valve a good inspection to ensure there's not something wrong with the valve itself tearing-up the gasket. Shouldn't be, but you never know I guess.
