Hi. So the tile just got done on our spa. We noticed a slight overhang/lip on the outer edge of the spillway. My pb stated that installing the tile like in the picture was standard practice and also guaranteed me that the water will just ooze over the wall instead of creating a waterfall effect. We have seen many spas online of similar nature just a have 90 degree corners on the inside and outside edge of spillway which looks better. I want to know what’s everyone’s thought on this? Should we stick with it or get it redone? The last two pics dark/black tile is of a spa online.

We were looking for water to flow over the edge and trickle down the vertical wall of the spa. Like water oozing over the edge and down the wall of the spa.What type of water flow over the edge are you looking for?

I understand, yes that is what I will have. What about the installation of the tile. Why does my tile have an overhang/lip when other spas have a 90 degree angle on the outside edge of the spillway.?That can be accomplished with a VS pump if that’s what you have.

Having a lip on the edge of the tile is common (1/8-1/4”).
Typically it helps get the sheet of water away from the face of the spa for a cleaner look.
What I’m concerned about is the grout, are the first two pictures of the finished product?

No. The first two pictures were without grout. It’s grouted now.Having a lip on the edge of the tile is common (1/8-1/4”).
