Spa/Pool Spillover Dam Height

When my pool was recently rebuilt, the spillover dam from the spa to the pool was set too high. When the spa goes into spillover mode, the spa level rises and water leaks out the spa under the spa's cantilever deck and into the ground.

The pool water level is at 2" height through the skimmers 6" tall opening.

The dam/spillover is at 2-3/8" above the height of the pool water level.

The spa water lever is 3/8" below the spa's cantilever deck.

QUESTION: I am having the spa spillover dam height lowered. To what height should it be lowered?

Thanks,
Glenn

Free,

Maybe I just don't understand the layout, but you want your normal water line to be about 3" below the coping.

It appears to me that when anyone sits in the spa the water is going to go up and under the coping.

Let's see what @JamesW has to say.

Thanks,

Jim R.
