If you look at where the plaster cream is a little thicker you will see why you should brush it. There is plaster that is holding the pebble in and it needs to be brushed to keep any dust from settling on the plaster. It is not as much as a plaster but there may still be some.

From the info I’ve read from PT and speaking with their rep, they recommend brushing twice a day for two weeks.
