Skimmer throat repair material

Hi

I've been reading solutions to the pool throat repair for the leak where plastic meets the tile. It seems like some of the forum members have used two part epoxy with little success. My research has so far yielded 3 products - hydro cement, 3m 5200, pool putty. I am all confused as to what is the right solution. Any wisdom for a long term solution is helpful.

There is no one right solution.

It depends on the buildup of materials around the skimmer throat and where the leak is. There are many different ways the skimmer throat is formed.

I would lower the water, remove the weir door, and fill gaps and cracks with pool grout.
