Skim-A-Round "All-In-One" Skimmer basket has anyone tried one?

I have never had a weir door on my skimmer so I decided to give this a try and it is awesome! When the pump is off the basket floats keeping all of the debris in the basket. Once you turn the pump on the basket sucks back down and creates the "tornado" suction. Pretty cool invention and has worked great for me so far!

I have one and it seems to work well. I do need to figure out how to use a skimmer sock with it though.

saw this item on facebook, wondering if it will work with a skimmer sock, I use paint strainers but same idea

Actually I have. The top ring separates from the bottom, which is the basket. I place the sock over the basket and snap the top back on. Works great. I also use polyfil in my basket in an attempt to help filter metals. The polyfil does not affect the performance at all.
This is not the wonder that their videos would lead you to believe but it is a noticeable improvement over a standard basket. I needed a new basket and thought 'what the heck' it is about the same price if you catch it on sale.

I have two of them and they work good. Need to use their skimmer socks. Paint strainer socks won't work, at least I couldn't get them to work.
