Sider Crete - Surface problems after a few months

Looks like an adhesion problem.

How was the surface prepared before application?

Was a bond coat applied?

The following was done according to the contractor:

- Removal of existing delaminated pool shell finish surface

- Conduct structural repairs

- Clean (power washing) and prepare surface of pool shell concrete.

- Supply and apply Sider-Crete 2-part epoxy-based pool plaster

A bonding coat should have been applied.

Sider-crete looks like it is more of an epoxy paint, and they don't require a bond coat in their installation instructions. Definitely more of a paint than a plaster.

Going by the picture it looks like it is deteriorating or wasn't put on thick enough. Did you get any kind of warranty?

Yes there is a warranty on the workmanship as well as the material.

Of course it will be a battle as they will blame the water chemistry. The water is balanced well and has been however.

Anyone experienced a similar outcome with sider crete?

I know it did rain a few times the contractor was applying the sider crete.
