Seal kit for Hayward SP2300VSP Max-Flo VS pump?

Hello all,

I'm wanting to replace the following seals, o-rings & gaskets on my Hayward SP2300VSP Max-Flo VS pump (OEM part #s in parenthesis):
Two-piece shaft seal (SPX2700SA)
Diffuser o-ring (SX220Z2)
Housing gasket (GMX600F)
Strainer cover o-ring (SPX2300Z4)

One online retailer that's selling the GO-Kit1 for Hayward Max-Flo 1800-2800 Series said it's compatible with my Max-Flo, but another said it's not, so I'm a bit confused.

If anyone knows whether or not GO-Kit1 is compatible with my Hayward SP2300VSP Max-Flo VS pump, or some other seal kit is, I'd appreciate your feedback!

You are looking for a GO-KIT85. The Max-Flo VS pumps fall under the Max-Flo XL category, which uses this GO-KIT instead of the old regular GO-KIT1.

Unless I'm missing something, a quick search tells me that this kit is not widely available. I couldn't find it on AMZN, InYoPools, PoolSupply4Less, Leslies or Pinch-a-Penny. I actually only found it at a few different "sunplay" websites, two of which are at the same location in AZ, one in UT, plus a "Supreme Water Sales" site.
sunplay, UT: $22.95 + $7.95 SH + $1.61 Tax = $32.51
sunplay, AZ-1: $16.07 + $7.99 SH = $24.06
sunplay, AZ-2: $16.07 + $7.99 SH = $24.06
Supreme Water Sales: $32.99 + $14.07 SH + $2.31 Tax = $49.37

The SWS site stated, "Repairs Seals For: Hayward MaxFlo XL 2300 Series Hayward MaxFlo XL - VS Omni", but did not list my SP2300VSP. That said, SWS also has a GO-Kit85V, which states "Repairs Seals For: Hayward Hayward MaxFlo XL® & VS™ Omni - ( SP2303VSP / SP23115VSP / SP23520VSP / SP23510VSP / W3SP2303VSP )", again not listing my SP2300VSP.

However, the 85V also states "Replacement OEM Seals / Parts: SPX2300Z4 / SX220Z2 / GMX600F / SPX2700SA", which the 85 doesn't list and are specifically the OEM part numbers that I need to replace. The only difference that I can see between the GO-Kit85 & GO-Kit85V is the that the 85V states that it's a "Premium VITON & Carbon Seal Kit • For use with Chlorine Salt Water Generator or Ozonator Pool Systems", (which I do not have) and has a AS-200V shaft seal vs. an AS-200 shaft seal on the 85.

That said, would you go with the 85 or 85V?

Viton is a superior product (some manufacturers used to put them in at the factory), but there are tens of thousands (or more, probably) of regular 200 seals in operation with no issues. Mine's been fine for 10+ years (different number seal, but same material).

Both the GO-Kit85 & GO-Kit85V are the same price, $32.99. That said, if the Viton is a superior product, why wouldn't you just get the 85V?
