SD80 SAND GUIDE

Greetings, I am looking for info/availabilty on a sand funnel/guide for a Pentair SD80. I am changing sand and need the guide to endure the standpipe stays centered. I called Pentair and was told one comes with new filters but is not stocklisted at Pentair. Any tips/ tricks are welcome. Thanks!

I think if you eyeball it centered you should be fine for the MPV to attached to it. Be sure to cover the (top) opening of the center pipe with something to prevent sand from getting in there when you add sand to the filter. Also add about 12" of water first to cushion the weight of the sand so you don't break a lateral.

Just use some foil or plastic over the pipe as you add sand.

Just for the record- sand almost never needs changing. A good deep cleaning can tidy it up for another bazillion years.

Thanks, i suspect a broken lateral as the pool has sand after backwashing, rinse x2. Thanks again
