What i am learning is a new pool pilot system.
The muriatic acid is bringing down the alkalinity quicker than the Ph. So in response sodium is
being added to counter the drop in alkalinity. And that in turn is taking up the salt.

No problem. Is this a new plaster pool? Any water features? What are your current test results. With a SWG you want to run a lower TA, so you don;t have to constantly fight rising PH. SWGs, water features and new plaster surfaces all tend to raise PH.
