My SWG manual states that salt should be between 2700 and 3400ppm. I tested today and was at 2200 and I just put in a bag of salt which should get me up to about 2500. Another bag should get me to 2800. Is there any reason/benefit to going higher in the range? To get to 3400 would take a couple more 40lb bags but is it beneficial to go that high? I’m relying on the “effects of adding” section of pool math, but of course I’ll retest after 24 hours for each bag.

Nope, unless the cell tell you low salt. Or, you don't want the bag to hang around and you expect a bunch of splashout/backwash or other water loss.
