Replacement liner thickness

The 10YO liner has failed. This liner was 27mil.
I had some quotes last year on thicknesses from 20mil to 27mil. There were several thousand dollars difference in the cost.
My thought is thicker is better!
Thoughts on liner thickness? I do follow the TFP regime of pool maintenance.

Also, is it worth exploring the warranty on the failed liner after 10 years? My thought is it may not be worth the headache.

Thanks,
Steve

I recently spoke to a liner technician that it's all he does. Ask him the exact question and he replied to me that last season he did 120 liner installs and most of the rips/damages are on the walls and steps and that's where he recommended the 27 thick liner. He continued to say the seam has no bearing on thickness and the pool floor stands the least abuse and not necessarily does he recommend 27 for the floor.
