Hi, i have a 15+ yr old intelliflo 4 160 3 hp. Its been intermittently stopping and starting and getting worse. Should i replace just the motor, or the whole pump/motor assy. If so, any recommended models/part numbers?

Tony,

I would go with a whole new pump... The newer IntelliFlo pumps are much more efficient that the older pumps.

When my pump bites the dust, I'll either buy a new IntelliFlo or the new IntelliFlo3.. The main difference is that I'd have to do a little re-plumbing to make the IntelliFlo3 fit.

Here is a good reference site...

Thanks,

Jim R.

Both your motor and the drive are in pretty bad shape. The motor alone (350105S) is about $600.00 +/- and the drive (356922Z) another $1000.00 +/-.
New Pentair Intelliflo - $2000.00 +/-
