Replace 2 Jandy pumps (filter 2HP and fountain 1/2 HP) w/ single VS 2.7HP and valve actuator?

Good afternoon everyone -

I'm an engineer by education but this wasn't in my wheelhouse.

I have two older Jandy HP Plus pumps - 2HP for 18k gal pool to filter through CV340 filter equipment.

I also have a 1/2HP to run three spillover fountains.
The whole system is ran through the iaqaulink RS system.

The fountain pump has failed (10 years old) and it's time for a new one.

Any reason I can't grab a 2.7HP VS pump to run both systems and then use a Jandy actuated valve to divert flow from fountains, filter, or both (and adjust pump speed accordingly)?

Yep - no reason that won't work. Be a great time to add a SWCG (salt water chlorine generator) too.
