After a long year of surveys, engineering, design, construction, rain, and cold....the pool is finally done! We're based north of Atlanta and signed a contract January 2022. After a few months waiting for a topo survey and engineering for the retaining wall, we finally started construction of the wall over the summer, excavated the pool in September/October, and finally added water this week (!).
Our backyard lies on a steep slope and had an existing timber retaining wall and firepit area that we removed. By moving the retaining wall "out" away from the house, we were able to capture an additional ~15 feet of flat ground to make room for the pool and turf. Couldn't be happier with the result.

We decided to go with synthetic turf around the pool and for the putting green - love the look and the kids are obsessed with "playing golf". We're still working through the final firepit, landscaping, and lighting details...but my hope is that'll all be done in the next few weeks.
