I'm wondering how much is considered reasonable chlorine loss for a 24 hour period? Currently I'm losing about 6 FC every 24 hours with a CYA of 37 (also using 6 tabs left over from previous owner). My CC is .5 or less. Does this seem like alot of chlorine loss? How can I lessen it? Pool specifics in the signature =D

Thanks for any info!

2-4 ppm of FC loss daily is what's usually considered common.

How are you testing your CYA? The Taylor kit doesn't have lines for 37 - if you have a reading between 30 and 40 just round up to 40 and dose for that.

How high and low are your FC normally running (what do you add to, and what do you measure when you add)?

Have you tried an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to see if any of the loss is to organics, vs. sun?
